This course explores theories of and factors influencing communication between individuals of different cultures. Topics:  definitions of communication; definitions of culture and diversity of cultural patterns; cultural variables influencing communication, such as language, non-verbal behavior, perception, values, and beliefs; factors that facilitate or inhibit intercultural communication; and examination of American culture in comparison to other cultures.
